Last year, the P.T demo took the world by storm. Well… when I say world, I actually mean PS4 – which is close enough. It was truly terrifying, and it was a wonderful little experiment to see how a small demo could become one of the most talked about mini-games of the year. But, sadly, after a clash between Konami and Hideo Kojima, P.T was scraped and removed from the store. With it, the potential new Silent Hill game faded into the darkness of games that aren’t to be. Or has it?
Since splitting from Konami, Kojima Productions has been rather quiet. However, pursuing P.T, and turning it into a full game, would clearly have been on their radar. I was browsing Instagram this evening, as I often do before hitting the hay, and I noticed the below post from Norman Reedus (aka The Walking Dead’s Daryl). You can see the post here.
Reedus is well known for many things, but one of his most recent roles was the main character in P.T Assuming that this short demo would be turned into a full game, I would imagine that Reedus would reprise his starring role. Could this mean that development for the next Silent Hill is back on? I’d be surprised if it wasn’t. I’m pretty damn excited, either way. And whilst this isn’t clear evidence that P.T / Silent Hill is once again a go, I’d say that it’s a rather good indication that it could be!
Let me know what you think in the comments section below – did you enjoy P.T? And would you be happy for the full game to still be release?
