IM PLAYIN Bloodborne – Character Creation

The first step in Bloodborne is to make your hunter. The only important thing to worry about here is your starting class, or “origin” rather. Your origin establishes your backstory and starting stats. This will be a much easier decision if you ever make a second hunter, as you’ll have a better idea of what kind of character you want. Each origin basically gives a few more points to certain stats. We should have a firm understanding of each of the stats work before we get into classes though, so if you need to know more on that front click here.

Now that we know what everything does, it’s time to pick an origin. Along with certain base stats, you also get a short little backstory with each origin. Here’s a list of what’s available:


Milquetoast 

“Ordinary happy upbringing. All attributes average.”

This is a class meant for anyone who’s not sure what kind of play style they’re going to have. It’s pretty neutral and allows the player to build the character in pretty much any way they see fit.


Lone Survivor

“Lone survivor of a lost hamlet. High life essence and vigor.”

Endurance: 11
Strength: 11
Skill: 10
Bloodtinge: 7
Arcane: 7

The Lone Survivor class is essentially your tank class—designed to take more hits than any of the other classes.


Troubled Childhood

“Suffered misfortune in youth. Highly resilient as a result.”

Here we have a lot of endurance and skill. If you’re planning on using a skill based weapon then this might be a good choice. Otherwise you’ll be able to get quite a few hits in before you have to rest thanks to the boost in endurance.


Violent Past

“Terribly violent past. Rash, but stronger for it.”

A violent past for a violent present. This class offers high strength and a decent amount of endurance—allowing the wielding of heavier weapons.


Professional

“Born specialist, fit for sleuthing or academia.”

Due to the boost to skill and endurance, this class is fitting for someone who wants to use smaller and faster weapons.


Military Veteran

“Experienced in war. A soldier with strength and skill.”

This class has a lot of both strength and skill—allowing for the use of both heavy and skill-based weapons.


Noble Scion

“Scion to a respectable line with faith in your pedigree.”

This origin is meant for players looking to use both skill and bloodtinge-based weapons.


Cruel Fate

Waste of Skin

If you want a really difficult start then this is the class for you. It’s actually great for those who know exactly how they’re going to build their character as it starts with all the stats so low.
