Details have emerged about Halo 5, the next instalment in the 343 Industries Halo franchise. The full title has come out as “Halo 5: Guardians”, with an expected release period of Fall 2015.
343 Industries noted that they’re very excited to be building the game from the ‘ground up’ on Xbox One, hinting that the studio waited to start development so that it became perfect for the One. The famous franchise has become synonymous with Microsoft, with this latest adventure sure to excite and thrill many gamers in this next-generation. Guardians marks the first time that a game in the main series of Halo has a sub-title, with sub-titles often revealing it to be a spin-off from the main series, with entries like Reach, Wars and ODST.
The teaser image shows what appears to be two versions of Master Chief, the one on top looking slightly different to the iconic vision that comes to mind when the name Master Chief is uttered. The blue tint is reminiscent to me of Dead Space’s, Isaac Clarke. The image also shows a desert like landscape…what this implies for Master Chief I’m sure we’ll find out more soon.
The release of the game was expected a little earlier than Fall, however, with the release of the Halo television series set to be around Fall 2015, it’s clear that they want as much of the huge following as they can get. The fact Spielberg is heavily involved in the Halo television show is simply too exhilarating!
I’m quite surprised how early they’ve revealed the sub-title in all honesty, however, the article notes that there are plans in place for fans to get excited for 2014, with the plans set to be revealed at June’s Xbox E3.
At the same time, Far Cry 4 has been announced as being released on November 21st 2014.
We are set to go into ‘Kyrat’, the name that’s been given to the Himalaya region, which we here at IM PLAYIN are frothing at the mouth to see fully. It claims that we’ll all be able to write our own story against a huge open world with a vast array of weapons and vehicles, as well as animals to feel the wrath of both.
The limited edition is available to be pre-ordered already, with several more story missions available to those that do so, as well as exclusive use of a “impaler harpoon gun”, which looks…epic. There’s no other words to describe it!
There you have it folks, two huge bits of news by Midday!
